Black Gold Slot review

Black Gold is a slot machine which appears to be dedicated to the oil extraction industry.

Black Gold’s theme, though not one that I’d consider popular among most players, is one that has been tried by different slot developers already. Based on the oil industry, which extracts the stuff out of the ground, it also has influences from Texas, a state that quite a few people associate with it. Betsoft took on the usual approach with it, using images of good quality, with plenty of animations and with the main character sitting next to the area where you play. Black Gold offers respins, multipliers, free spins, bonus games and wild symbols. It can also give you regular payouts of $2,000 or more, and it does it with a 5 reel & 30 line layout.

Betsoft is faithful to a certain type of betting system, one which lets you use up to 30 lines in this case, and for each one there will be from 1 to 5 coins to use. The smallest value for such a coin will be $0.01, while the highest one will be at $1. Taking everything into account, you can wager up to $150 each spin.

One of the things that I enjoyed most in this game is the presence of multipliers. These are at 1x, 2x, 3x or 5x. Each time you get one winning combo, a Center Reel Respin will trigger, with the other four reels staying in place. The first win is regular sized, but the ones after that go higher with each new respin that brings you a win. Once you reach the 5x multiplier, all the respins that follow will be at that value. Once you get a respin with no winning combo, the multiplier resets.

A High/Low bonus game can be accessed by landing the Oil Pump icon, on the 1st, 2nd and 5th reels. You just try to guess if the next number to come up will be smaller or bigger than the one currently showing. The feature ends with four hits or four misses.

The free spins mode will come through the Barn scatter, when present in 3 or more spots anywhere on the reels. The Barn is turned into a wild at this point, with a multiplier that goes up each time this symbol is involved with a win. Up to 10x multipliers are possible this way.

The final feature is called Drilling For Oil. It’s a click me type of bonus, activated by 3+ Drill scatters. You just click on one of the Drills shown, and you get paid.

It’s not a theme that a lot of people will love, but it’s a very well designed slot, and the bonus features and multipliers will make it look very good.
