Berryburst MAX Slot review
The first of its kind, Berryburst MAX is a new type of slot machine from NetEnt, featuring high volatility and a huge potential at 6,000x the stake.
NetEnt has seen the popularity that other games have had with the high volatility style of gameplay, and they’re looking to get a piece of the pie as well. Rather than launch dedicated slot machines that have high volatility, and which mostly pro players will try out, they’ve decided to release modified versions of future games to work this way. For the first game of the series, Berryburst, they released this Max version that’s different only under the hood. Otherwise, you’re still looking at a fruit themed game which mixes card suits as well in there. The production value is quite high, NetEnt will do nothing less for their slots, but you still see symbols which revolve around limes, raspberries, grapes and oranges.
This is the type of game to use a cluster pays system, with up to 15 symbols involved in a single win, on the usual 5 reels. The big features of this game will be its expanding wilds and the re-spins that may be triggered. With a potential of as much as 6,000x the stake, it’s clear that the game deserves its MAX title, as that would mean up to $1,200,000 cash. Even with the high volatility, the RTP is at 96.23%.
The wagers of Berryburst MAX are done for 10 active lines, and the level of the bet will allow for as many as 10 coins to be used for each one. The coin value is the last option you get to use, between $0.01 and $2. This gives the player the option to wager $0.10 to $200 per spin.
The Cluster Pays system requires for 5 to 15 matching symbols to form a combination, the positions touching vertically/horizontally. The highest payout you can get is 10,000x.
Expanding Wild symbols will be used when they appear on the reels, and they will end up covering the column in question.
Re-spins are activated at the same time as you get the wild symbols to appear. They will lock those wilds and will give new re-spins if additional reels are transformed this way. The feature could end even with a screen filled with wilds, in which case you get double the payout.
Berryburst MAX is an interesting addition to the high volatility/huge potential side of the market, particularly since it sports the usual high-end NetEnt graphics.
