Book of Immortals Slot review
Coming via iSoftBet, this slot machine has an Ancient Egypt theme, but it manages to offer exciting modern features as well.
In a competition against other Ancient Egypt themed slot machines, Book of Immortals would certainly impress, being one of the more modern-looking titles that I’ve found in this category. It features the same main characters that you’ve probably seen in other slots of this type, including here Anubis, Bastet, Hathor or Horus, along with images of scarabs. Those are the symbols which have impressed me with the level of detail and quality, but unfortunately the game also has some Royals which are a lot less exciting to watch. If it was just the high paying symbols present on the reels, I’d give the game a 10 out of 10, for the design quality, but with those Royals also in view, I’d have to downgrade that rating significantly.
You’re going to find only 10 active lines, on the 5 reels which are used in Book of Immortals. There is a 200x the stake jackpot available, only $2,000 being paid at best here, thanks to a low betting range. Features include free spins, scatters and wilds, plus expanding symbols and the Scarab Swap.
It’s not a very expensive game to play, not even at the highest bet possible. It allows you to cover 10 lines with wagers ranging from $0.10 to $10, which means that the line bet doesn’t go higher than $1.
In a lot of ways, the game reminds me of Book of Ra, as the majority of its features have been lifted straight out of that slot. They made sure not to make it a complete clone, by adding an extra option called a Scarab Swap. It can bring in Scarab swarms to the reels, which land on symbols and switch them, to improve their wins.
The other features will feel familiar, revolving around mixed wild/scatter symbols, which can be used to both act as substitutes and to trigger free spins. If you reach the free spins, the game will select a random symbol and will give it the ability to expand on the reels where it is present. This can bring you up to 10 winning combinations of that type, of up to 5 symbols each.
Book of Immortals does a great job on the graphics, most of them anyway, while using cloned features which are inspired by Book of Ra. If you’re into this particular type of game, then it can be a good choice, since it also adds the Scarab Swap to the mix.
