Book of Queen Slot review
Book of Queen is a game that’s inspired by Ancient Egypt, which uses Book of Ra style features and pays up to 5,000x the stake.
Amatic’s Book of Queen is one of two games that they’ve released, and which appear to be almost identical in every way, with the exception of one symbol. They seem to have replaced the jackpot symbol in Book of Lords, using Cleopatra here, rather than the blonde archaeologist from the other game. Otherwise, every symbol you see in the other positions will be identical, and the features are also the same. The story seems to revolve around Cleopatra, Hathor, Bastet and Anubis, so personalities or deities from the period of Ancient Egypt. The other symbols give us the Book and a mix of less than interesting Royals. Quality wise, it’s not too bad, but it’s also as far from interesting as a slot machine can get.
Looking at what’s offered gameplay wise, you will discover a 5-reel title, which has 10 fixed lines. They pay as much as 5,000x the stake back to you, if the right symbols appear on the reels when needed. For the game’s features, the developer came up with mixed wilds/scatters, free spins and special expanding symbols, a typical Book of Ra style list.
The wagers in the game are selected for all lines that are available, and they start from a minimum of $1, while the maximum bet is $500.
Features are copied straight out of Book of Ra, one of the most popular games at land-based casinos, and now online as well. As dozens of other slots have done, Book of Queen is also relying on the exact same features and theme.
The only feature symbol available here is the Book, which will be a wild when appearing on a line with regular symbols of the same type. Otherwise, if you get 3 or more in view, it will also be a scatter symbol, which triggers 10 bonus spins this way.
As the feature starts, it selects a regular symbol at random, to become special and to gain the ability to expand whenever it appears. This can bring you full reels covered by those symbols, and 10 winning combinations can be formed by them, if they appear on the right columns.
Book of Queen has a proven gameplay style and a list of features that others have used in the past, but it’s incredibly common as well, and it doesn’t show much imagination on Amatic’s part.
