Bookie of Odds Slot review
Triple Edge Studios and Microgaming have collaborated on Bookie of Odds, a game with a horse racing theme and modern graphics.
Compared with other slot machines which have the same theme, inspired by horse racing, Bookie of Odds does look better, and I think it manages to pleasantly surprise in other ways as well. While some of its competitors are looking a bit on the simple side, or dated even, Bookie of Odds features modern graphics. The symbols you see are pretty much the ones you’d expect, which use images of jockeys that are taking part in a horse race. Those particular symbols, along with the ones showing trophies or punters, are very well designed. The same can be said about the background image, but the Royals which come in different colors are a lot less interesting. Overall, an above average design for the type of theme it represents, but compared with most slots, it’s only average looking.
Bookie of Odds has 5 reels and a total of 10 paylines present in its game area. It’s offering a good RTP, of 96.5%, has a Respin option which should come in handy, as well as wilds, scatters, free spins and expanding symbols. Overall, when everything goes as it should, the game is capable of paying 5,000x the stake.
You can place a bet of up to $25 on a spin of Bookie of Odds, but you can also reduce the amount wagered all the way down to $0.10. This allows you to spend anywhere from $0.01 to $2.50 per active line. You do this by varying the number of coins (up to 5) and their value (up to $0.50).
Bookie of Odds looks like a game that borrows heavily from the Book of Ra slot, using its features as its own. That’s why you will find the Golden Book in the role of a mixed symbol, both as a wild and a scatter. As a wild, it can be a substitute for others, while as a scatter it can trigger up to 25 free spins.
Once the free spins start up, you have a special expanding symbol chosen, which will take over the reel it lands on. This can happen only if the expansion helps bring you more wins.
You also have a paid Respin option, a button that you can use from the bottom of each reel. You can pay to have a reel respin, and hopefully bring you the symbols that you need for new or improved wins.
Bookie of Odds might not have new features to offer, but at least it introduces a completely new theme in the Book of Ra clone collection.
