Crusade of Fortune Slot review
Net Ent’s Crusade of Fortune is a slot machine with a fantasy theme, with goblins, rogues and dwarves as its heroes and villains.
Once Crusade of Fortune loads, what you will see is a very dangerous looking battlefield, filled with skulls and fire, not the sort of place you would want to visit. The reels are transparent and with borders made out of metal, keeping to the same type of look and allowing you to see the danger that lies behind it. There are 20 bet lines inside, 5 reels to hold them, and the prizes you can go after include ones that reach values of up to $20,000.
The fantasy look is decently handled, though it’s not the usual quality that Net Ent has gotten us used to. You will discover images with goblins, with rogues armed with daggers, with severed heads and with dwarves ready to use their axes. The rest of the symbols are occupied by weapons of all types, by shields and there is even an elf princess in there. The result is a pretty decent game, at least graphically, but as I’ve said, it’s not as good as other Net Ent slot machines.
The betting system is somewhat unusual, mostly because of the number of coins which it uses, while keeping their value quite low. The maximum denomination of a coin is $0.20, and you can wager with up to 20 on each payline. With 20 lines in use, you can select 400 coins for a wager, and with a total value of $80.
One of the three main features which the game provides is the wild, which shows off an Elf Princess, dressed in a skimpy outfit. It will act as the substitute that you expect it to be, and obviously it will not assist you with the bonus or scatter wins. Have two or more Elf Princess wilds form a combo, and you get paid up to 5,000x this way, meaning 100,000 coins, or $20,000 cash.
The Dwarf is a scatter, and it does two things. It triggers a cash prize with 2+ symbols, offering up to 200x triggering bet, and it activates 10, 20 or 30 free spins, with 3 to 5 symbols of this type. The free games have their own 3x multipliers, so they triple all wins.
The third and final feature is a bonus game, which asks you to slay an orc to win a prize. The Orc symbol is its trigger, when 3+ appear on a win line.
The game does pay well, especially for a bet of only $4 per line, and it helps that there are 3x multipliers as well during the free spins, taking the jackpot up to 15,000x from the original 5,000x.
