House of Doom Slot review

House of Doom is Play’n GO’s release and a slot machine which delivers hell inspired graphics, a very dark atmosphere and several cool features.

House of Doom isn’t shy about declaring its intentions, and it’s quite clear from the start that the aim is to be scary and uncomfortable. Inspired by hell, the game shows a witch on the reels, plenty of skulls of demons and goats, roses that are on fire and pentagrams that seem to call on something to come forward. You can expect for Gothic style playing cards to be present as well, not at all unusual for this sort of design. Look around the game area, and the same dark style of design is present, with stone, skulls and Gothic decorations.

Anyone interesting in playing House of Doom will find that its 10 lines are arranged on 5×3 reels, which makes it a bit underpowered compared with what it could be. You’re being promised a jackpot of $10,000, plus access to a wild symbol, scatters, bonus game, Doom Spins and a random Hellgate feature.

You may use a bet as low as $0.10 in House of Doom, which means that each line would receive $0.01. At the other end of the betting range, you have a bet of $100, with line bets of $10.

The Hellgate is a feature that you get each spin. You will find that a reel is selected at random and that it’s highlighted, so that if a wild lands on it you will get it to expand there.

The symbol with the House of Doom logo gets to act as the scatter, with three of these triggering a feature that involves 10 free spins. These spins are improved, meaning that you get 2 to 5 highlighted reels and the scatters are turned into additional wilds. You can even retrigger the feature, though 3+ symbols will get you only 3 to 5 additional spins.

Another feature is called Skulls of Abyss. It triggers through scatters that have images of Demon Skulls on them. Three appear and trigger the feature, and then on the next screen you get 15 skulls to choose from. You can get paid, or you can trigger Doom Spins this way. The feature ends when you find one of the end symbols, the ones that pay more or trigger the free spins. The low paying symbols allow you to continue.

House of Doom has modern graphics, a very dark design and a theme that some will love, others not so much. The list of features is definitely one of its strengths.
