Ice Pirates takes on a different view for the pirates that rule the oceans of the world, showing them at the North Pole, rather than on a tropical island.

Ice Pirates is offered by Endorphina and it is a variation on the typical pirate themed slot machine. The regular slots that sport this theme will have it revolve around some tropical island where a treasure is buried, but in Ice Pirates you’re seeing the coldest regions of our planet in the background. The images you get on the reels follow the same logic, and so besides the pirates dressed in warm clothes there are pictures with frozen bottles, skulls with scarves and hats on them, polar bears, frozen mugs and other similar images. Finally, even the poker logos are made out of ice, all of them colored in the same light blue. I found it to be a fairly enjoyable looking slot machine overall.

Ice Pirates has only 10 active lines for the player’s combinations to form on. In terms of prizes, the biggest one has a value of $10,000. The game relies on a collection of features that includes wilds, scatters, free spins and up to 20x multipliers.

The betting options of Ice Pirates aren’t exactly intuitive to use, particularly since they’re spread out in three corners of the screen and you don’t always have clues to let you know that they can be modified. You just click on the number of lines, on the Bet section and on the coin value, and the values will change. You can have 1 to 10 active lines, 1 to 10 coins used on each one, while denominations reach $1. The full range for the bet is $0.01 to $100.

Look for the one-eyed pirate if you’re curious about the wild symbol of the slot, as well as the one that’s capable of forming a combo with a payout of up to $10,000. It’s a substitute only for regular icons, not for scatters.

The scatter is the one showing you the skull and crossbones, with a cap and a scarf keeping it warm. Have three or four land, and you get a cash prize out of them. You also win 12 free spins if you get a minimum of three.

Multipliers of up to 5x are used on the 5th reel during the main game, while during the free spins there will be additional multipliers, with values at 10x or 20x.

Ice Pirates has a unique theme, but that’s not all that it offers. I was also impressed with the huge multipliers that can improve your wins while you play it.
