Knights Slot review
Inspired by the Knights of the Round Table, this is a Camelot themed slot which is available via Red Rake Gaming.
Still a small developer, with a name that will make you smile, Red Rake has several very good slot machines released up to this point. They’ve come up with a medieval themed slot machine for this latest release of theirs, following in the footsteps of King Arthur and the knights he leads. You see Camelot in the background, while on the reels your images range from the Holy Grail, to castles, Excalibur, knights and a long enough list of Royals which appear to be made out of gemstones. It’s not a bad looking game, better than the average slot machine actually, but I’ve also seen better looking medieval slots out there.
Knights will feature a game area with 5/6 reels (player’s choice) and 5 paylines. As major features, it introduces free spins, scatters, wild Knights with multipliers, and the 6th bonus reel. Moving on to big payouts, the best will reach a total value of $350,000, for a single spin.
While the regular bets of the game will have you spending between $0.10 and $17.50 per spin, if you choose to also have the 6th reel active, then the amount doubles. You end up using $0.20 to $35 wagers each round.
The 6th reel doesn’t do anything special, it’s not a bonus provider, it just adds an extra symbol to winning combinations. You need to come up with one more symbol for wins, and the rewards go up, reaching 10,000x the stake per spin at best.
Merlin Wilds are available for the base game, as substitutes which apply a 2x multiplier as well, to the regular wins they help form.
The Horse scatters will trigger anywhere from 10 to 40 free spins, based on the number of times they appear (3 to 6 scatters possible in a single round). Once you get into the free spins mode, the high paying Knights will turn into wilds themselves, and they help make the action even more interesting. The first five spins have the multiplier set to 1x, the next five have it at 2x, and the rest will get a 3x multiplier.
Knights offers a complex mix of features, which revolve around the same basic options that we’ve always seen in slot machines, making them a bit more interesting.
