Medusa Megaways Slot review
A very popular franchise, Medusa, is now available in a Megaways version as well, thanks to NextGen’s efforts.
NextGen Gaming has had a fair amount of success over the years, using their Medusa franchise and launching several slot machines in this series. They’ve decided to take things up a notch, and launch a slot machine with this title, which also benefits from the Megaways mechanic. It keeps the graphics of the rest of the series, but it adds the new reels and features, so it’s even more exciting now. The theme is obviously based on the idea of the Medusa, a beautiful woman that has snakes on her head, which will turn men into stone when they look at her. Other images in there are also inspired by Ancient Greece and its legends. You will see things like bracelets, stone statues of warriors, flying sandals, gold snakes or the image of Pegasus, the flying horse. The Greek-letter style Royals have been used as well, for the smaller value symbols.
As with other slot machines with Megaways, Medusa comes with 6 reels and up to 7 symbols each one, and a maximum of 117,649 ways to win which will result from this. The RTP is quite high, at 97.63% (if you buy the bonus), but the volatility is also on the high side. They’ve capped the win potential to 50,000x, but that’s still an incredible jackpot to be getting from a slot. I think you will like what you get in terms of features as well, with options ranging from cascading symbols, to Snake Strike, Medusa’s Gaze, Temptation feature and free spins.
You can spend between $0.25 and $25 each spin, allowing you to wager at most $1 per bet line.
Some of the features present inside are typical. You get cascading symbols which will remove winning icons and replace them with new ones, plus you also land wild Medusa symbols to act as a substitute, or the Medusa logo to be the scatter which takes you to the free spins.
Medusa’s Gaze is a bonus which you get if a wild or more land on the extra reel, found at the top. The reels found underneath get turned into wilds then.
Win multipliers will go up with each new reaction that forms, and then reset at the end of a paid spin. During free spins, the multipliers remain at the level that they already reached for the duration of the feature, without resetting, so they can only go up.
It’s an impressive release, one that offers some of the highest jackpots you will see in this industry, and which has an excellent mix of features to offer as well.
