Mercy of the Gods Slot review
Ancient Egypt gets another look in Mercy of the Gods, a new NetEnt slot with excellent graphics and progressive jackpots.
Mercy of the Gods will use the Ancient Egypt theme once again. It’s common in slot machines, and NetEnt has its own share of such games in their collection, yet it seems like players still want to play such titles. The upside is that this otherwise boring theme is getting the NetEnt treatment, which means that it’s going to be one of the best looking slots to use this particular theme. We’re looking at a female explorer, a blonde woman which explores the pyramids and finds treasures there. The symbols are mostly typical ones for the genre, so you see several deities (Horus and Anubis), pharaohs, scarabs, the Eye of Ra and the Ankh. Unfortunately, you also see several Royals, symbols which are far less impressive. Overall though, the quality is excellent and the game is a contender at the top of the category.
You spin 5 reels in Mercy of the Gods, with 20 active lines present in that game area. Thanks to them, the game will offer three different jackpots (Mega, Major or Minor), along with wins of up to 1,600x total stake ($160,000). It looks pretty good on paper, especially since there is also a list of features, which includes a wild symbol, scatters, re-spins, expanding wilds and free spins.
20 to 200 coins are in the game’s bets, and they also vary in value. As you use 1 to 10 coins per line, and rely on a denomination between $0.01 and $0.50, you can spend up to $5 for each line and $100 total per spin.
Mercy of the Gods has several attractive features as well, and I’d mention the wild first. The regular version is just a substitute, but there is a second version for it, one where it expands during re-spins.
To reach the re-spins, you just need a wild to land, since it will move down by one position for each round. Get a wild to land behind another one during these re-spins, and they will combine their efforts and expand to cover the reel.
Via Eye of Ra scatters, the slot can also offer up to 12 free spins. Here, expanding wilds are offered each time that a regular wild lands on the reels, and the re-spins are triggered next.
Mercy of the Gods features decent features and payouts, has excellent graphics and overall it’s just a good game.
