Mythic Maiden Slot review
Mythic Maiden is a Net Ent game which is themed around a medieval torture device, the star being the Iron Maiden.
If you just look at the graphics, the theme of Mythic Maiden might just as well be about the things you might find in an old attic, because that’s what the background image shows you. You will find lots of old objects, skulls, candles and dust there, and on the reels you pretty much see the same things, only they’re in color now. The Iron Maiden seems to be the main inspiration for the game, a device that was used in the Middle Ages for torture. The slot has 30 lines which are active, and they can bring payouts of $10,000.
The quality of the design is quite good, and you will notice it both in the themed images and in the playing cards, which are made to resemble melted down candles. The Iron Maiden device is on the right side of the screen, locked during the base game spins, and open during free spins.
The game lets you choose pretty much all values related to the wager. You have the number of lines for one, which goes from 1 to 30, and then the number of coins (1 to 10 per line) and the denomination (which will go up to $0.50). You can spend a maximum of $5 on one line, with the total reaching $150 per round.
The image of the full moon, shown through a window as it’s transforming into a skull, was chosen to be the wild feature in Mythic Maiden. These wilds will replace pretty much any regular symbol, but not a scatter. It gets even better though. The combinations which have wild symbols apply 3x multipliers to the standard win value.
There is also a scatter symbol, which appears to show the inside of the torture device, with two life forms chasing each other. This scatter can appear anywhere, and as long as you have 3 or more, you get free spins from it. You can win 10, 15 or 30 games for free.
While in free games mode, you will notice that the Iron Maiden device will open up, and that it will show you a multiplier of up to 10x which will be applied to the wins. It might show some extra free spins as well, or they can be given instead of the multiplier.
It’s an unusual game, with a theme that is quite different from what I’ve come to expect, but which manages to make itself liked anyway. It has a couple of good features, decent graphics and the payouts are at least average if you take into account the multipliers.
