Reels of Egypt Slot review
One of the Cayetano Gaming releases, Reels of Egypt features pyramids and alien ships, all in one basic package with 3×3 reels.
Reels of Egypt doesn’t feel like your typical Ancient Egypt themed slot machine, and there is a good reason for that. Cayetano Gaming designed it as a classic 3 reel slot machine, one which uses many of the usual Egyptian style symbols that we expect to see, but they’ve had a surprise for us as well. They turned the pyramids into alien space ships. Some of them are shown in Egypt, as buildings or temples, but others are floating in the air nearby, so the alien origin is clear. As for the symbols that you will find on the reels, they range from scarabs, to the Ankh and to different pyramids (one blue pyramid, two green pyramids or three red pyramids). It’s a modern design, which I enjoyed checking out, quite different from other Ancient Egypt inspired releases from the past.
3×3 reels will be part of the slot’s game area, and through them you will get up to 5 winning combinations from just as many lines. The RTP of 94.43% is not a big reason to try the game out, but the presence of wilds, 20x multipliers, bonus reels, free spins and scatters might give you what you need. In the base game, the slot’s top payout reaches 125x the stake, and 2,500x appears to be the limit during free spins.
It’s a game that has a betting range of $0.20 to $60, apparently with 20 coins in use, even though only 5 lines are available. It’s a bit of a deceiving practice this, using 20 bet lines rather than the 5 in use, since it skews the payouts which the game can deliver (rather than winning 500x the stake, you only get 125x, and the game doesn’t make it clear).
The 4th bonus reel is the one that will deliver extra bonus features, boosting payouts by up to 5x and triggering bonus games.
Space Pyramids is a bonus which delivers rewards of 1,000x the stake at most, by showing bet multipliers on the pyramids from a new screen.
Reels of Egypt also has 7 free spins, where up to 20x multipliers make this one of the more exciting bonuses available inside.
It’s got some awesome features, particularly for a classic slot, but I’m disappointed in the RTP it offers.
