Riders of the Storm Slot review

Riders of the Storm is one of the games that Thunderkick released in 2019, and it features air ships, along with a Steampunk inspired design.

Thunderkick rarely disappoints when it comes to the graphics it uses in their new slot machines. I love what they did in Riders of the Storm as well, a game which appears to have Steampunk inspired graphics, at least partially. It doesn’t quite go all the way, it doesn’t have all the cogs and wheels which are often part of such slots, but the feel of it is still there. The action appears to revolve around air ships, navigating the storms of the sky. We have various naval related icons on the reels (hook, anchor, ship’s wheel, a compass), along with energy sources and three different characters which appear to be part of the ship’s crew. With highly polished graphics, Riders of the Storm manages to appeal to its players, especially since it doesn’t have much of a competition.

Thunderkick found a fresh idea for this game, and I like the end result.

26,426x, an impressive return by any standards, is the most that Riders of the Storm will pay in a single round. The game, with its 5 reels and the 243 pay ways, will also have Walking Wilds in its bonus game, along with a Wild Multiplier and Mystery Wild Reels. In case the features haven’t convinced you yet, knowing that the RTP’s level is at an acceptable 96.15%, might do it for you.

The bets you use here aren’t any different, compared with the other Thunderkick titles. You select one, in a range of $0.10 to $100, and that’s it, you can play the game.

The base game benefits from the presence of wilds which have a 2x multiplier.

Mystery Wild Reels come via a random feature, which can transform up to four columns. There is no multiplier here.

Several variants exist for the bonus game, with free spins and multipliers depending on the kind of volatility you want. If 3+ scatters show up in the bonus game, 3 to 13 additional free spins are added to the total. This can happen only three times. If Wilds appear at this point, you get the Walking Wilds and re-spins which continue for as long as these symbols are still visible. They move to the left by 1 position for each re-spin. It’s also important to know that multipliers for the wilds are at 2x, 3x or 5x, during the bonus game.

Riders of the Storm looks great, is fun to play, has very good top jackpots that it could potentially pay, and overall it’s just a good game.
