The Lab Slot review

Like all games that come from Elk Studios, The Lab was designed to be played on mobile devices, but works equally well as a desktop slot machine. It only has 15 paylines, but it offers an interesting design and gives you a chance to win up to $6,000.

The title tells you exactly where the action takes place. It’s a lab where you get to examine various crystal molecules, with elements like Au, Qt, H2O and O2 being represented as well among the symbols. The science angle works well in this case and I’m sure it will find plenty of supporters among players.

The game needs a single coin to activate a payline, and doesn’t allow you to select more than that. You always play with all the paylines active, which means that 15 coins have to be used. The 12 options available on the Betting screen take you from a minimum bet of $0.15 ($0.01 coins), to a maximum of $90 (where coins are at $6).

Sliding Reels is a feature which allows you to transition from the Normal mode to the Free Spins mode. You need a The Lab Logo symbol on the 2nd reel to get there, and it can only do that if it lands in the middle position. The reason is the Vortex which is visible behind that particular symbol. You are given 10 spins for free if the requirements are met, with a x2 multiplier being applied to all the wins obtained along the way.

Once inside the free spins, you can take advantage of a special wild which can replace any icon that appears while the feature is running. It will do so if it can help you create a new combination of symbols, otherwise it will not use its ability.

Another feature would be the X-scatter, which can multiply the winning by x2 for each symbol that is visible.
