Zombie Hoard Slot review
Zombie Hoard is a fun slot, with a zombie theme and with Slingshot Studios in the role of the developer, while Microgaming is the one that gets exclusivity to it.
Zombie Hoard looks like a fairly interesting game to be playing, and a slot machine which looks at the popular zombie genre, and uses it in a fun way. It delivers creatures that are going to look scary and funny, in equal measures, which is actually not easy to achieve. They’ve did this with the help of high quality cartoon-style graphics, but the creatures they’ve thought up are still repulsive ones, so we’re not looking at cute zombies. You have those creatures as major symbols, representing former police men, maids, chefs and so on, while on the least relevant positions you get the Royals. There are also the green hands of the undead, coming out from behind the reels.
Layout wise, the 5 reels of Zombie Hoard are getting only 9 paylines in total. Even with those few possible combinations, the slot can still pay up to $107,500. As the big features, it has regular wilds, super stacked wilds, scatters and free spins which have 2x multipliers.
The bets you place here will reach a maximum value of $5 per line, which would require the use of up to 20 coins of $0.25. Multiply that by the 9 fixed lines that need covering, and the betting range is between $0.09 and $45.
Thanks to the Zombie Hoard logo, you get a wild feature which you may use in combination with regular symbols, but you can also get paid by it directly, when it lands next to other similar symbols.
Besides the regular-sized wild, you also have a super stacked version, one which you’re only going to see on the 3rd and 4th reels, while in the base game. It gets better during the free spins, since it appears on all reels there.
Low value symbols can have tokens attached to them, and these are collected in order to get you closer to the free spins. You either trigger them via 3+ scatters, or through 30+ collected tokens. A 2x multiplier applies to all the wins obtained via the free spins. Once you add the presence of super stacked wilds on all reels, the free spins are starting to look a lot better.
Zombie Hoard has the right design to be a fun release for a lot of players, can pay quite well and it has plenty of features as well.
